This matchmaking workshop links FI-PPP Use Case projects with the broader Future Internet research and user communities. The workshop is designed in a semi-BarCamp format, with an introductory presentation and a sample of FI PPP speakers followed by short presentations resulting from an open enlistment for those wishing to present their activities.

Description

On June 3, 2011, the European Commission launched the Future Internet Public-Private Partnership Programme (FI-PPP), bringing together the major industrial stakeholders, public sector, research institutes and SMEs into a new type of innovation ecosystem. The participants have a shared agenda to create next generation public services and infrastructures in an open and participatory manner. At the heart of the FI-PPP are eight so-called “Use Cases”, technologically innovative Integrated Projects with a high social and economic impact from a wide range of application areas and carried out in tight collaboration with the FI-WARE Technology Foundation project.

Objectives

This workshop, organized by the FI-PPP’s CONCORD Coordination Action, aims to engage the broader Future Internet research and user community in collaboration with FI PPP Use Case projects through service co-design and piloting, technology exchange, access to R&D results, etc. The Workshop is structured in three sections: an introduction to the FI PPP by the CONCORD Project; presentations from end-user partners of a sample of Use Case projects, and finally brief presentations from Living Labs, SMEs, etc. interested in collaboration.

Target Audience

The target audience consists of the R&D Centres, SMEs, Living Labs, and policy makers interesting in learning more about the FI-PPP and the opportunities for collaboration with on-going projects.
