The LENS Living Lab mission is to support designing and manufacturing SMEs by development andenabling the infrastructure for inventing, testing, prototyping and marketing of new materials, high performance designing and manufacturing technologies, as well as with other supporting high performance technology systems and services.

Description 

                      The most important capabilities of  LENS Living Lab are its orientations on innovation and   development of: 

•High performance mechanical engineering design and manufacturing technologies  (examples:  innovative laser applications, new materials,  new product design and development, new  machining tools and methods,  innovative machines etc.), 

•Supporting technologies and related services  for manufacturing SMEs (examples: open code  SW like CRM, ERP,  collaboration platforms,  open project and program offices  etc.) 

•Metanetwork of different international collaborative  professional virtual communities (PVCs) and  collaboration with existing industrial clusters and networks  

•Orientation on advancing of innovation potential of designing and manufacturing SMEs  and their  innovation environments                           LENS Living Lab customers are comming from toolmaking and machine tool industry, automotive industry,  ICT industry, research industry, education industry etc.

In LENS Living Lab are users involved as initiators- (co)organizers of different collaborative events and projects/programs, coordinators of open virtual groups and collaborative platforms on specific areas of their business and professional interest.  Examples:

• New innovative  laser applications – open innovation collaboration platform,

• High performance manufacturing metal-cutting technologies – CORNET open innovation collaborative platform,

• New innovative metal forming tool-making technologies – EMO-NOVA-OR collaboration platform,

• Open sourced SW solutions for project based manufacturning SMEs – Tool-East open innovation collaborative platform,
